what is the difference between alexa rank and page rank of a website? how can it help a website quality and indexing.
The difference is Alexa doesn't matter at all. The problem with Alexa is it can be easily manipulated with no influence on rankings what so ever (there are companies that will boost your alexa by sending lots of people directly to your website). As for pagerank it isn't overly important I've seen PR2 sites beat PR5 sites, the only thing it is good for is an overall idea of the strength of your website (strength does not mean rankings, but it can mean it is easier to rank). Say you have a Pagerank 4 website with 300 pages, and you give another one of your websites a run of site link there is a good chance although only one website is linking to it that it will get a PR3 or PR2 with little chance of it ranking. The only time I look at pagerank is when I am building links and than I only look at the homepage pagerank of that particular site which I want to place a link on. Cheers.
Actually, Page Rank is pretty important if you're a company trying to get customers/ consumers to find your website. Alexa: how many views/ hits your page gets each day/ week/ month/ year Page Rank: what page your website is listed on Google's search engine Good luck! -PlonkaInteractive
No relationship whatsoever. Alexa supposedly measures traffic ranking, Page Rank supposedly measures page importance. For Alexa, the lower the number the better (an Alexa value of 100 would mean that you are in the top 100 sites with most traffic on the Internet), for PR the higher the number (up to 10) the better. In practice, Alexa rank is extrapolated from the number of users having the Alexa toolbar installed that visit a specific site, and is therefore easily manipulated. Page Rank is an "importance" value given by Google based on the number and quality of incoming links. PR is supposed to be one of the factors that affect the SERPs, but it's not the only one - any search will show up sites with lower PR higher on the search results than pages with higher PRs. Nonsense! Alexa does not indicate the number of views/hits - an Alexa rank of 4,000,000 does not indicate four million views, just the opposite, that it has a lousy number of visits. And PR has nothing to do with the page where you are listed in Google, or you would have a PR up to several thousands... and Google itself has a PR 10! (would you believe that Google ranks on page #10? )
Alexa determine the traffic coming to your website but there are many others tools which can help in measuring the traffic coming to your website. You can use Google analytical tool or yahoo website analysis tool to get idea of traffic coming to your website. Before you get ads on your website you to give traffic report. For this mainly alexa is used...
Both are quite different concepts. Alexa rank is calculated only by data contributed by users who have installed Alexa Toolbar. However page rank is term which search engines use weighing links back to your site.
Both are useless and both can be easily manipulated. This is the reason many of us donot bother to check out what is the difference. However let me tell you in short that alexa rank can be easily achievable upto the extreme by downloading alexa toolbar and visiting your site once everyday. The more number of visits you get from different ips who have alexa toolbar installed you get your rank higher The google pagerank can be achieved by getting high PR backlinks for your site, so frankly speaking both of them are not so valuable. What values more is the SERPs and your site rankings in different search engines
Hello friend, Page rank is concerned with link popularity and alexa rank is concerned with traffic.Page rank should be higher and alexa rank should be lower.
Alexa ranking means - A web toolbar service that provides webmasters with real-time Alexa site traffic data. PageRank is a numeric value that represents how important a page is on the web.
It's simple, PR is Google's technology on measurement of site importance while Alexa ranking is the estimated ranking on traffic of all sites in the internet.
Alexa rank depends on your site traffic. google page rank depends on your site quality, domain age, importance etc. alexa rank lower is better & google PR higher is better...
Alexa Rank is the traffic rank of your website... It is count of visitors on your website with Alexa toolbar installed on their system. This is not the actual traffic stats and it is not worth considering. PageRank is complicated algorithm used by Google (back in years when Google was launched) to measure the performance of your website. It is not important for anymore... Now, there are many other factors which you need to count while measuring your site's performance.
