If someone embeds a video from a video site, will the video players hits count towards the video sites alexa rank?

Alexa is not completely accurate... But I would say no... I may be wrong though.

    Two things to consider:
    1) If the url loads from the site, then it good quite possibly add to it. There's a good chance that sites like youtube and myspace are getting a boost from that.

    2) Slight chance that the answer could be no, because perhaps Alexa only tracks urls entered into the url bar. So only urls actually passing through the url bar or urls loaded via clicked links will be tracked, thereby making images and embeds not count.

Alexa is not always accurate... I own a web hosting review site and I can honestly say that I think Alexa favors webmaster related sites more than the others when it comes to rankings... Obviously Alexa cannot monitor how many hits every site in the world gets so what they do is store cookies or some sort of tracking device on the computers of the people who visit Alexa.com. There is a lot of room for error in the Alexa.com counting methods but I guess I can see how embeded videos could help... Who knows... Im more worried about google than anything else. Good question though.
