I was wondering if i should post this thread in web directories or all other search engines... but i guess Alexa is a tool of some kind so i will post my thread here. Sorry if i am wrong. So my question is about Alexa rating. I have site with rating 1 000 000 and have about 300 unique visits a day. I know sites that have 1-4 000 unique visits every day and still are 2 500 000+ in Alexa. The other day i come across a site with Alexa 400-450 000 which had around 400 users visiting the site every day. And today i saw a site with Alexa 150 000 which had around 150-160 users visiting every day... SO my question is how does that happen? And what to do to put my site in Alexa top 100 000. I dont need guides i just want to know is there a minimum of users every day i must have to be in Alexa top 100 000 or what? p.s. i found another site with 500 000 unique visits every day and it had Alexa rating 5 000 . Another with rating of 99 900 had 4-5 000 unique visitors every day... Thanks in advance for answering!
Alexa takes stock of how many times a site was visited by using their browser ad on and monitoring the number of times that everyone visits a site. Most people don't have the alexa toolbar so it is not accurate. Alexa is mostly used by webmasters so the sites that webmasters visit more often will have a higher alexa ranking even if they aren't visited as much as other sites.
