hey guys im curious on something about alexa. before i go any further I DO NOT want any alexa haters to post to this i want knowlegable ppl of traffic stats ONLY now if u goto my alexa page here http://www.alexa.com/siteinfo/http://www.wrestlingstreams.net#trafficstats u will see How Wrestlingstreams.net is ranked around the world but it only shows USA and i know for 100% that i get more than just us visitors so how come it says just usa then other sites that do the same type of website i do show countries from all over the world am i doing something wrong? thanks in advance to all your help
I see you have 4.3% from non US countries http://www.alexa.com/siteinfo/Wrestlingstreams.net?p=tgraph&r=home_home do you think you have more ? by using awstats and google analytics you can have more informations about countries of your visitors
yes thats what i dont get how come there is no other countries listed there for instance i know for a fact that theres members of my site from japan and stuff but yet japan isnt listed in there
I offer you to use google analytics...why don`t you use it ? it says any things about your users...countries.. towns... as an example from alexa I have 3.7% users from countries other than my country.but google analytics shows from 110 countries I have users with good details... I use sitemeter google analytics awstat and also alexa and adding them together.every stat program gives me good data.
I believe Alexa gives you more detail the higher you rank, and the older your site is (as they add information over time). For two reasons; For sites that are small, it's not efficient for Alexa to compute the % of traffic from all countries. They'd waste a lot of cpu calculating sites that were 1,000,000th in the list. So they calculate what the consider most important (USA), and lump the rest in OTHER. Alexa works by taking a very small data sample from visitors that use Alexas toolbar, then the data is "scaled up" to try to guess the global values. This works ok-ish on huge sites, but not so much for small ones. The smaller the sample, the less accurate this is... so Alexa will avoid publishing it. You're not doing anything wrong If you grow, and stick with the site no doubt they will show up soon. My two cents. p.s. Remember Alexa is very inaccurate, don't spend too much time using it for analysis
ooh nice info on alexa by all of you let me add some thing. I had visitors from 4 countries (not the blog in my signature) but when the percent of visitors from one particular country touched 98% . it automatically showed the rest 3 as one single entry in the form of OTHERS . So it might be in your case also
