Alexa Estimation ?

What are some good estimation regarding this Alexa rank and page views ?

For example, say a website had 300k ranking, how many page views would that equate to? I find it weird that when I go to this website it always says there are 20-30 people on, according to this widget they have installed.
However, on my 400k ranking website I only get about 5k pageviews a day and only ~1k uniques and most of the time there are only 1-2 people on my site.

Is there an estimate number of PV or uniques per alexa ranking? I couldn't find anything on Google.

So a 100k rank difference can make up for such a huge difference ?

It varies a lot according to websites niche, if you have a website which webmasters(or say ppl with alexa toolbar) visit on a regular basis, you are likely to get a good Alexa ranking with even a low amount of traffic. So with the low accuracy of Alexa, you can't estimate anything really.

Ah right, I heard that it depends on the niche before but never quite figured out the meaning of the expression until now.
Well, I guess both my website and the other one I was talking about is in the same niche really, so the difference in ranking does seem strange.

By the way, mine just gained 400k from 700k yesterday and this other website had ~300k for a while, does that change anything ? Is this ranking taking into account all of the past visits or only since the last update ?
