    PR isn't related to alexa.
Anyway, it was probably an error, check it again.

Alexa Rank is calculated considering how many Alexa Toolbar users visited a certain web site and how many distinct pages they viewed in that site over a period of 3 months. So alexa rank is relative.

And also Alexa Toolbar is only for Internet Explore which means it doesn’t count growing group of Firefox fans or any other browser users.

There are over 10 million Alexa Toolbar users who make it a recognized measurement, in general webmaster.

For me , Alexa ranking is not important , why do you think is important to you?

That true, but still has nothing to do with PR...

How much did it drop by?

There's a good post on Dosh Dosh about raising Alexa rankings, you should check it out.

Alexa is not very accurate, so don't worry too much about alexa. It's kinda just a comparison tool, which is not even accurate :).

You are right of course, but I think that the OP was worried that, if his ranking dropped with Alexa they might have dropped all over.

But Alexa is so flawed I am not sure there is any point in worrying about what they say too much.

Alexa is like a poll, or the Nielsen Ratings. Just a cross section of a certain number of users, not an accurate measurement of all web users.
