Anybody explain how Alexa produce their "People who visit this page also visit"
data provided under their traffic details. It appears that this information might be volunteered.

I am sure Alexa used to provide information and help files but these seem to have disappeared.

They definitely use the toolbar to collect all the traffic details, rank, reach etc. but if you look at "People who visit this page also visit" details the information gets a bit strange. Take a look at http://alexa.com/data/details/main?url=www.dfsonline.co.uk - it looks like people who visited a uk furniture shop visited a whole load of other US furniture sites - not UK ones. All other sites in this sector are associated with visits to places like Ikea, Argos, John Lewis etc as you would expect. Our site has no data in this section. But you are invited to add some!!!! I am wondering whether all the data is volunteered in this way - in which case this information is useless for marketing purposes.
