    If alexa put its traffic rank then no one will trust it :). I think so.

    The traffic ranking is based on alexa toolbar users so alexa.com would be properly skewed in the rankings.

    Well i think that because all the people who are using alexa toolbar are webmasters, and because of that websites like hotscripts,sitepoint,digitalpoint are ranking so high, no?! because lot's of webmasters and SEO people use alexa toolbar in order to increase artificaly they rank ... now 90% of this guys are checking they ranking stats at alexa.com , lol ... alexa.com must be #1 after using theyre algoritm...

    I can agree, yet it is a tool (illustator) that will show how a site is popular at least for those that have the toolbar included. Still better than notihng..

    Alexa is a true ranking to an extent because number of alexa toolbar users have only grown through the years. And alexa has been online since a long time.

    But it is equally true, that webmasters can boost their rankings using other means.

    Yes, and i don't think that those 14-16 years old kids who are accessing all day websites like hi5 ,or porn/dating websites have alexa toolbar instaled... i think that dating websites are reciving much more traffic then those big websites from china/japan/korea that are in top #100 in Alexa

    If you install Alexa toolbar on your computer and check your websites for a few times , you will see the ranking jumps in just 3-4 days.

    I dont think Alexa provides a "true ranking" at all, the only people who use Alexa are webmasters and its got so much wrong with it. I still keep up to date with my Alexa rankings though.
