Why so many websites still quoted the ranking of Alexa if it is useless?

 

Does this mean that Alexa rankings and stats are pointless? and if so why do some people make such a big thing of it?

 

Alexa shows visitors between 30000 to 100000 while Google Analytics doesn't show more than 6000 visitors a month on my website Ads4India.net
I trust Analytics and work only based on GA.

 

Google analytics is a tool for your internal page views and ctr ratio etc and alexa a international assumption based tool to check your website credibility.

Alexa is really just a good ballpark from traffic. They are way out of line some times.

Also, I believe Alexa is also tipped off by bots from backlinks as I notice by building backlinks to a site, my alexa usually goes up. Just a thought.

 

Google & Alexa's rankings are very different. Alexa's ranking fluctuates very often - I once saw it fluctuate twice within the same day.

alexa used traffic average based on traffic on that keyword also it affected with person using alexa toolbar to search but google is exact it give exact idea of traffic on your site that come from any source

 

Analytics is much more accurate than alexa. Alexa's reporting only goes off of users which have the alexa toolbar installed, so it's biased.

 

And so is analytics. Analytics' reporting only goes off of users which have javascript enabled, so it's biased as well. The best is AWStats, which access apache logs. Nothing is as accurate than that!

 

Alexa may be a more popular tool for finding stats on the relevance of your site in ranking, but it really does not compare alongside Google's analytic resources.

Alexa Rank shwing about number of visits in another Ip but it is very important in each site .

 

Alexa and your Google Analytics traffic rating can be quite different. Don't expect direct correlations. Even Google Keyword Tools traffic estimates and actual keyword traffic can be hugely different. Do your research wisely.

 

Yes alexa is defiantly not all its cracked up to be, but it has its purposes. Go by your own analytics's.
