01-20-10 03:26 PM - Post#190735 When I try to get to the Yahoo login page I get the warning copied below. This happens just on my Vista machine and it happens via Chrome and via Firefox. The links to Yahoo Help come up broken. My iphone is unaffected. I've run MRT and Norton and I used CCleaner to wipe all cookies. Google finds a few forum threads saying (1) don't proceed past the warning and (2) its ok to proceed because Akamai is legit. I sent a help request to Akamai (and I've read up on who they are and what they do) , but so far no response. Ditto Yahoo. On more clue is that one time out of a dozen I get no wanring and I get into Yahoo mail. So my question is: Should I proceed past the warning? Thanks Login.yahoo.com uses an invalid security certificate. It is a SSL misconfiguration. There's nothing you can do. (Btw last days Yahoo has been acting strange; two days ago when I logged in to my mail I got a 404 error! - No, it wasn't a phishing site).
I wrote to their web master and received these two responses, one of which, regarding DNS, I do not have the background to understand: --0_b30f9feac51f16b73986d772bc9b85ff Content-Type: text/plain; charsetiso-8859-1 Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable 3D3D3D3D3D3D3D3D3D3D3D3D3D3D3D3D3D3D3D3D3D3D3D3D3D 3D3D3D3D3D3D3D3D3D3D3D Post: Akamai versus Yahoo? BTW, this section is for Bug reports concerning this website in particular. This thread should really have been posted in the Help Me section of the Tech area. No biggie just for future reference. oops, I was moving too fast just now. The above replies are not from the company; they are from a radio talk show host's on line forum. Sorry
