I would like to have a spot on my front page that flashes new post titles as they are posted (like http://www.blogger.com/). Does anyone have any general pointers or (even better) a link to a tutorial?

    Thanks.

Before you do this I suggest you tell us how many posts a minute your site recieves. There is no point implementing this if it's going to lie dormant. Just extra bloat that isn't needed.

As the french say, il est un attrapnigo.

The site gets about 1 post every 20 seconds, which isn't much, but the site is growing. I was also thinking I could maybe show other user actions in addition to new posts (like comments, bookmarks, votes, pageviews, etc). But to get me started I'd like to see it just for post titles.

    Thanks.

Look at the DP spy and examine the source, it should give a good indication of how it's done on the client side.
