    Hi All,

What do you all think about this script ?

    http://www.boonex.com/products/orca/

I personally love AJAX. So i was impressed very much to see a Forum script in AJAX.

Their other scripts are pretty good too. They are doing good job by releasing these under CC-GNU/GPL

It is simple and I would recommend it for any small boards out there, I would much rather use IPB than this for a big board, that I was to create.

Thanks for sharing the link with us though, I will get it for the future if I need it!

Yes, AJAX is new and becoming popular.
It stands for Asynchronous Javascript And XML
You can read about it : http://templora.com/content/25

And many big sites like "Digg" "Feedburner" etc.. use it.

No, I'm genuinely disappointed! I really like AJAX as a user interface, but I didn't realize it isn't SEF. I probably would have used it too. Oh well.

AJAX is a terrible idea for a forum. None of the information will be seen by any search engine crawlers. AJAX is cool, but it should only be used when it is completely necessary.

Maybe someone could create a fourm that was sort of AJAX. like, the user controls, posting, etc. use AJAX while the actual posts themselve are not displayed using ajax. That way SE's would see the posts, which is what really matters, and they wouldn't be able to see the posting controls, etc.

In the example that is posted above the script is actually pretty SEF. The links are all still intact, the only thing that is "AJAX" is when the page is being loaded.

AJAX is a great technology and I'm also a big fan of it. I try to use it on all of my sites :)
