AI file Editable?

    Hey People,

    Just a very quick question. I've never really used illustrator so please excuse my lack of knowledge.

    The client provided me with a logo (300kb) in AI format. But I need to translate this into ENGLISH, I open this in Illustrator but I can't seem to figure out how to edit it.

    I'm able to turn on/off the layers, but not edit them.

    How can this be done? Any help would be awesome!

    Have you tried clicking the padlock icon next to the layer? This turns editing on and off for the layer.

    Is it possible that the text has been converted to outlines (non editable)?

    Hey there,

    Thanks for the prompt reply.

    No I don't see a PADLOCK icon next to the layer.

    Well, the layers have all been separated so "A" "B" "C" are all in seperate layers. What do you think this means?

    Hi,

    i have checked the .ai file. And it looks like the words have already been "Outlined" so it is no longer possible to edit. So i suggest you delete them and replace them. Also everything seems to be grouped in, so make sure you go inside the symbol before editing.
