If you can tell me how benevolence and kindness are indicated by I might consider taking back the hypocrite statement.
Out of line? A man who would tout "human dignity, love, kindness, benevolence, justice, fraternity" and all the other glowing words he used to close his article, while allowing for the antithesis to happen in his own land over such "crimes" as sexual preference or adultery, is what I said he is. Beyond, forget hypocrisy; even accepting your notion that homosexuality is a mere "choice" (subject for another debate), from my standpoint, brutally murdering someone over that choice is simply anathema to human nature. If you would have me believe this is Islam, then Islam needs to evolve, in my opinion. Let me ask you this. You made the following comment in the thread about a Muslim man who helped a Jewish commuter, leaping to defend him (at his own peril) when the Jewish man was being attacked by anti-semitic thugs: This was a beautifully moving story, on so many levels. But now I must ask you this. What if the man was gay? What would the "real Islam" dictate then, sincerely? Protect him? Protect him, for later stoning? Join in? *** Another and more general question. Your comment in this thread has piqued my curiosity with respect to the Q'uran and theological developments after. I am led to believe the Q'uran is the perfect revelation from Allah, the final revelation in a line of prophecies stemming from Abrahamic lineage. Am I right to believe Sharia is based, at least in part, on extra-Q'uranic rulings and traditions? If so, how can the Q'uran be all-encompassing and complete if at the same time many of the Sharia rulings come in the interpretations made by others, well after the establishment of the Q'uran?
Are you serious? This is ONLY one of the reasons: The United Arab Emirates has claimed today that Iran must give back three islands that says it belongs to them. “The renewed claim, made by UAE President H H Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan on the occasion of the federation’s national day, comes ahead of Monday’s two-day summit in Doha, Qatar, of the six-member Gulf Cooperation Council†as informs today Gulf in the Media. “The islands “of Greater Tunb, Lesser Tunb and Abu Musa… are an integral part of our state. We will spare no effort in retrieving them and we demand that they be returned to our national sovereignty,†WAM quoted Shekikh Khalifa as saying.†“We have made the international community and Iran’s leadership aware of our enormous concern avout the continuing occupation of these islands,†the UAE president said.†http://www.gulfinthemedia.com/index...en&PHPSESSID=dfeec59dab5ad989c0123fb3ede1554d So the Ahmadinejad stole from the arabs!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ya know I could be totally off base here but the UAE is my favorite middle eastern country. They want education, prosperity, and diplomacy to make their country the most fantastic country it can be and if you don't like it they put you on a plane and send you home. I really respect that.
