I clicked on one of my own ads. I reported this to google 3 minutes later, but they still haven't replied and its been about 3 hours. anyone been through this situation before? What can I expect?
I really wouldn't worry about one accidental click, it probably costs them more to respond to your query, than the value of the click.
I did, back when I first started, because I wanted to see the stats update. They did not. Only later did I find out in an email w/ Google asking why the stats did not update did I find out they are not in real time. Anyway, I told them I had clicked on an ad and they said, not cool, just don't do it again. Nothing more was ever said.
I have clicked a couple of times by accident on my own ads when previewing a page in Frontpage, I didnt contact google about it, just presumed they would not charge for it. I think you should be ok David, expect a response saying try not to do it again etc etc or else.
I clicked twice by mistake abt 3 months ago. And i didn't report it to Google coz I thought as I did it by mistake and only twice so it won't be a big prob. And I'm still publishing Adsense without any problem. But reporting to Google always makes u worrieless and thats better. Just don't click even by mistake
i did the same and also told google about it and they told me no problem. funny thing (is was when they sarted the adword search results) and i got paid for the click. See honesty does pay.... Just not as much!
I clicked on an ad by accident and dutifully reported that I had clicked on an ad by accident. They responsed with "Thanks for notifying us of the invalid clicks." That one letter really pissed me off. Since then, I've accidentally clicked my own ads about a half dozen times, but I am certainly not going to report myself again.
yes. That's why this especially worries me. I have been running for months and this is the first time I clicked. I have been very careful to keep my mouse away from the Adsense bar, but my damn laptop mouse caused this.
I wish there is a way to put in some of your own IPs to let Google know not to count clicks from these IPs.
I clicked on my own ad by mistake some days ago, and mailed them. Then , I got their replay after 2 days.
hehehe .. if you have tap clicking enabled on ur laptop, be careful when you move ur cursor across the adsense ad on ur own pages !! I clicked once last week .. but dont worry google wont kick you out if you are earning a sizeable amount and have been around for some time, if you click once or twice. They also get money because of your account (not that they would want their money through invalid clicks).
If you make it through the week without getting banned you definitely make it to the top here: http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=12912
I've recommended a simple script elsewhere that prevent the ads from even showing if it's you. A search should bring it up. If ur lucky I'll hunt it down and paste the link in a bit. You're lucky... http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showpost.php?p=124809&postcount=24
That's a good idea. It's like walking on thin ice when I'm developing a new site that has AS ads. An self-imposed IP block would be a great option. AmCy
