I purchased a new domain today and I just realized that it has an archive that goes back to 2003. Will google credit this as being an aged domain and give it more juice ?

If it's been dumped .... ie. was not registered when you purchased it - then it's a dropped domain, it wont hold much more weight than a fresh or new domain .... it's virtually what it is.

If the domain was not dropped and it was registered for 5 years - then it would hold more weight .... even then it depends on several factors.

As per your statement, if it shows web history then how can it be a new domain? It is said to be dropped domain....

The only thing that aged domains is an advantage : google wouldn't think you're a spammer since its old (btw it must have a clear history for that). Also, registering a domain for at least 2-3 years in advance will make the same advantage

Age is an important factor for Google ranking. But how u purchased the domain from registrar by back ordering or from some third party?.

I think the older domains can rank easily if it has especially good past history.

you should be happy if the earlier website had much reputation in the eyes of Google.
Your page rank will definitely increased very soon

No, you will not get special preference since it was dropped. the only thing that might happen is that a few older back links are still out there. Domain age is considered new when you buy a dropped domain. Most sit idle for some time and lose any juice.

Domain age starts fresh if it expired.

If backlinks still exist to the site you could see credit for those, otherwise google isn't going to treat you any differently than a freshly purchased domain.

Google likes old domain name. I think you might set some free backlinks but it depends on domain history
