Aged Domain With No Backlinks...Is It Useful?

    Hello,

I just purchased a legitimate 4 year old domain that contains my keywords. It is already listed in G/Y/B directories but it has no backlinks. Will this domain have more seo value than a new keyword rich domain?

    Thanks,
    Mike

How is it listed in 3 directories without a backlink? This must of been a dropped domain then, right?

Yes, an aged domain with aged link is much more valuable. Only problem is when a domain gets dropped it takes away some of that value.

The good thing is you have an aged domain, maybe no links but you can always get those. With a new domain and links it maybe longer to catch up. With the aged domain its easier to play catch up with adding links.

Agree with you, I too can't understand how a domain cannot have backlinks while it is listed in popular directories

You can submit your site to these directories without backlinks.

And to answer the OP's question... they are probably both so similar in ranking that it shouldn't matter. I'd go with the keyword rich though since it looks better and probably is easier to remember.

If it is not a dropped domain it will definitely help you a lot.

Ya you can carry with that Old domain site, you can easily gain back links for that rather then new , good choice and keep working on that ..

Domain age also matter a lot in the quick indexing and optimization process of the website. With the domain age the search engines quickly sense out what is actual worth of this domain also have some maturity on main search engines around the globe.
