    Hey all,
We all know that older domains are more valued, in google's eyes at least.
But how exactly does it work? Do you need to do anything with the site in the time it's been registered?

For instance, If you had it parked for 10 years, and added content on say home buying, would it outrank another newly registered page on the same theme with the same content outright? (not taking into account duplicate content penalties).

So, does the content or anything other than the time the domain's been registered for count? Hopefully I've managed to communicate my query well enough haha.

Age of the domain is important factor if you will talk about some high competition keyword like "seo" BTW age of the domain also mean the age of the content and many other factors !!!

    My dear Friend

It will definitely outrank domain registered with 1 year if everything is similary (onpage and offpage) because google assume that this site will not vanish in a year or not for short term period. Generally spammers and fraud are taking domain for short period and during that period they try their best to build faith in visitors and windup as soon as their aim fulfills othewise they again increase the time period.

I think "older domains are more valued" this statment is wrong.

It should be older Websites are more valued...

What if there was a domain name that was registered in 1999 and then changed hands 2 yrs later then somebody worked on it for 3 yrs left it then the domain name changed registrar , server, content a few times and now you have it. I think you would not consider yourself too lucky if you got THAT domain ?!

Just my 2 cents (or paise).

    Regards,
    ASHISH T.
