Age has no factor, the "kids" here were born with laptops in their hands, our biggest thrill was a transister radio that was at best scratchy with poor reception.

I would gladly give my wooden leg and glass eye to have the many skills shown by the younger people here, i hold their skills and ability in the greatest respect.

It is probably a point in time where both old and young can benifit greatly and learn from each other in a way that benifits directories as a whole.

Wasn't born with laptop in my hands, however started assembler coding before many members here were born :D
We had first 8 bit PCs then and I was very excited to create first programs or games :)

And Jaboora - who told you everything around is business, including directories?
Sometimes it's better to start something because of passion and have a will to learn something new than thinking how much you can earn.
Then one day business will come to your door and you will know what to do with it.

I am to be surely agreeing with you. Passion is to be fire in belly for many. I am to be wanting to feed my childrens who are to be babies. Passion does be helping me but business head is sure to be also important. I grew up serving in shop many hours in late time, this made me confused and being angry, but my papa did then be telling me story of how it is being needed to be working long hours for business. I am not to be knowing of fundaments of directory to that I do be confessing, to be being business mind I am.

I you have not read " Think and grow rich " BY Napolian Hill, That book holds a secret message, if you can come back here and tell me that message you will be able to run your (any) business.

Also read and understand " The richest man in Babylon " these two books will put you in a good position regardless of your chosen business that you wish to undertake.

    That's really sorry.
I'm at your age nearly, have also 2 grown up sons (studying IT) and it was me who showed them computers world. Together we played games, then moved to programming. Still they're coming to his father asking for know-how ;)

HA! that reminds me so much of my commodore C-16, which I then upgrade to a VIC-20 and finally getting the commodore 64 with the 1541 floppy hard drive (later on upgraded the the 1541 II woowoo). All of it hooking up by an RF switch to a regular analog TV. hahaha oh man!

I remember writing a small game using sprites. jeeez have we come a loooong long way since then!

Well personally i didn't have much free time on my hands to get in to computers. Most of my growing up was spent fighting for my Queen & Country. But i have retired now. So maybe i will catch you up !!!!!!!
