Does it matter how long or the age of a backlink? i know how old and longstanding your website is seems to matter (does it?) but what about the age of backlinks... how long you've had them etc. I have a good 200-300 incoming links, many of them with decent Pagerank pages (without even many other outbound links) and my pagerank is still ONE.. My sites newer (nov 2008), but i still can't understand it. the site is Mad Rap Videos.com... I can't understand why my pagerank isn't higher... any tips?
It seems to take a few days for the worth of a new link to kick in but after that I've not noticed age make any difference.
hi, only age and page rank of incoming links is not important, quality of that website, and theme relevancy plays an important role in pr passing.
Would having the appropriate Keywords in the right places be what you would call "relevancy" in the eyes of the algorithm? I'd think so..
As far as I know it's just the pagerank of the other sites that will help increase your pagerank. But the bottom line everyone's really after is to be at the top of the search engine rankings. That is where things come into play like the relevancy of your backlinks, age of them, etc.
Of course age matters it all.. As long your link will be kept on partners page, it will boost your ranking as well. I am having a some of my link, which are 4 years old and still alive.. Cheers.
