    I think its just the begining of something much bigger, in the near future we will be able to surf the net via our normal tv, so google is setting the ground now for this and maybe they will get a patent on it so no one else could do it.

    That sounds like fun. When I have enough money to throw away on this - I'll make some crazy TV ad, just for giggles. And yes I think it'd probably be thrown away... Like I mentioned in some other thread re: print ads and radio ads on Google. I don't think any of these offline avenues are really going to bring a good ROI for most people. They'll only work for certain types of products/services I imagine..

    File this one in the "been there, done that" catalog. Don't you remember WebTV? It was around in the early 2000's, and it went nowhere. People didn't want to surf the web on their TV's, they wanted to watch TV on their TV's. Right now I'm browsing the internet on a 46" LCD connected to my computer that has a TV Tuner attached, and I have Talladega Nights running in a little window in the corner. It's pretty irritating.

    It's like the old Commodore 64 or Vic 20 that ran on my 13 inch TV. Why the hell would we want that again?
