If you are strong with IT and can install and maintain your own computer, then go with Linux.
If you just want to use a computer without the bothers, go with OSX

Anyone who attends any Web development forums or large professional events will notice that MAC is the dominant OS of choice with new systems. You find the most creative people and the very best software developers and security experts are carrying a MAC.

I myself still primarily use XP,(crashes, blue screens and all) though I own MAC. I would jump into OSX for sure once it can run on any PC hardware and that time can come at Apple's will.

Follow much of the corporate strategy out there and skip Vista entirely.
There is a huge resurgence of MAC in the corporate environment and after almost losing to Linux at one point, it certainly gonna keep the lead on Vista installed base.

Vista is the best thing to happen to Apple OSX

I'll still use both XP and Linux, my computer is not yet ready for the big change because of Vista!

    Things are simple:

Use Mac OS if I have thousand of graphics to work with (not my case now)

Use Linux when I plan learning it (waste of time while time is money)

Use Windows for everyday jobs and making money. Vista Ultimate is working great!

    Good luck.
    Voted Vista.

I game alot, so i can't run them on OSX, that's the only downside...

Im just gonna stick with XP until something decent comes around, the macbook air has been tempting me just for when i go around and in school, but i cant game on it so that sucks balls imo.

I couldnt make up my mind between OSX and unix

    Unix:
Can't use photoshop and other adobe products ( i think)
Not as much hassle as other OS's, hardly ever crash but thats because no one targets them.
    Cant game

    Mac:
    Cant game
they hardly crash, but ive heard when they do, they crash hard.

So i would have to go to vista :)() or give up gaming :O

I think many people will be going to Vista although the Microsoft dominance may soon be over. It's their own fault.

I would rather chew off my own arm while cooking a salmon at 200 Degrees than use Linux over Windows.

Windows PC's are a lot more powerful than Linux, and Windows has support for the more important programs :)

It's the next version of MS Windows after Vista. Vienna is also known as Windows 7. Check out the Wikipedia article. Sorry for not being able to post the link, but it's less than 7 days since I registered.
