Trajan Pro, made by Carol Twombly for Adobe Systems around 1990. Based on the perfect roman lettering found on the Column of Emporer Trajan. It's a great font and the best way to get a hold of a legit copy is either right from adobe, or it's usually included in their free extra fonts on their application CD's. A good approximation if you want a knockoff for free would be: Optimus Princeps, over at dafont.com
haha no probs, I'm a bit of a typophile myself, there's a whole piece in my portfolio dedicated to exploring that font alone. I also like Myriad Pro, which Carol Twombly also worked on.....maybe I was just born too late ;-)
Well, if you look closely, Myriad is just a re-make of Frutiger, which is super-old. My Fav fonts would be Akzidenz Grotesk, Myriad Pro, Gill Sans and have you heard of Sauna? it's the (update of cooper black) font used in the pownce.com logo amongst other things. Very hot!
"Frutiger is super old"? haha, 1975?!?! Your nuts Akzidenz and cooper are older than that. Of course, all beautiful typefaces when used properly.
next time try googling i was just looking what kind of font is it and i ended up with adobe shop http://store1.adobe.com/cfusion/store/html/index.cfm?store=OLS-US&event=displayFontPackage&code=1724
Well apparently the recently designed Myriad Pro isn't good enough for Apple anymore and they're re-tweaking it again! Yes, Akz-Grot is def my favorite typeface, and it's 112 years old, still beautiful. Everything has a time and a place. Unfortunately almost everything, papyrus and comic sans have no time and their proper place is in the fires of the bitbucket! Oh, and 65$ for an Adobe Pro font is pennies my friend, take it and run!
Thank God someone said it. Papyrus is the plague. That crap-shoot of a font is EVERYWHERE. If you have to resort to using Papyrus, you should go apply to the closest dead end work-place around, because you must me a slack, cheap substitution of a designer. The plague is on wedding invites, company logos and business related handouts (thats the biggest shock), websites, and about anything else that needs a "fancy" look. Using that joke of a font is a direct representation of the joke that is your design career(sure to be a short one). Sorry for the vent, but Innovati said it best when he said there is no time for that and the only place is e-hell.
bancomicsans.com < I think graphics337 will also enjoy that site Today I spent my day driving around seeing how many times I could spot Lithos (yay Carol Twombly, same designer as Myriad pro and Trajan) and Cooper Black on signs just around town.
hahaha that's good stuff, how many did you find. I walked around campus the other day and found about 9 different things that were done in papyrus.
AHHHH, I am finishing up a paper for philosphy, go to do the work cited page and hit google to find out how to cite from an article in a book. THE SITE I GO TO IS ALLLLLL COMIC SANS. No Lie. I never felt strife towards Comic Sans until just now. 5 minutes ago, CS went on the list. An entire site, riddled with comic sans. Share in my frustration, it's probably one of the hardest things to read i've ever seen. It's a childrens book from hell.http://www.bc.k12.pa.us/library/hslib/works_cited_guide.htm
