I have been using Google Adsense on my sites for 6.3 years. Never have I violated any of there terms. Yet recently Google send me an email that they have blocked my adsense account for violating their terms. Off-course, it is an auto message and no specific reason has been given I have looked at everything and the only thing that I can noticed is that one of my website has spiked in the last 10 days. It went from 300 visitors a day to 6000 visitors, due to a top 5 ranking in Google for a very popular TV show. After 6.3 years I cannot believe that Google just blocked my account without giving any specific details. Is there any way to find out exactly why my account has been blocked?
I would try to appeal if you can and ask them why. I got one of those today i think i know which site which started to get well indexesd for which was generic that said It is important for a site displaying AdSense to offer significant value to the user by providing unique and relevant content, and not to place ads on pages with little to no original content. Just kind of sucks after five years and serving millions of ad's they decide no more. I dislike those automated systems without warnings, o well off to another advertisers.
Yeah, that's really unfair. However there must have been some reason why you got that spike that they found illegal. You have no choice but the switch to Kontra or something else though.
They did the same thing to me recently, except I wasn't with them for long. They just blocked me out of nowhere, I didn't even violate any rules. But oh well, their ads weren't making me much money anyways. I can use that space for something that'll bring in some real money.
In my case it was bringing real money and one thing I can imagine is that there was an ad in the header. This add would also be displayed on the contact page. The only page with little content. But it has been that way for 5+ years! Although the website gets an design and code update every 8 to 12 months all the contact pages have had an ad. If one website goes from 300 to 6.000 then Google will find that strange. If you get 5.700 visitors looking for a specific thing, in this case a TV show website, and if there is an add about that TV show (which I did not see!). I can imagine the CTR going from 2% to 10% and that maybe something to get banned over. But I have been a client for 6+ years and would have expected a more detailed email about what they found wrong and perhaps give me a few days to fix it.
Well, I can only guess that if you were showing that TV show on your site, it would have gone against Google's terms of service as piracy and that's probably why they canceled the account. This is only a hunch based on an assumption though...
Most of the time he will not get any proper mail from them. Reactivation of a banned adsense account!!! I never heard it before (may be some big guys have exceptions).
No no no. I was not showing any TV show. The website is a blog and there was a posting about a TV show. No copyright violation at all, just a good position in Google.
After six years! OMG it is a long relationship with Google. For this reason web masters must diversify their income sources with affiliate programmes without depending only on Adsense.
maybe not about your site, just your code get abused, did you place only your own site in "allowed site"
Its pretty freaking with Google now a days, Banned by Blog 3 Years ago for using word "Sponsor" and now they even have allowed it. I would have been making millions by now. Though Its my sixth year with Adsense Let's see what happens with mine :s
There is a photo, but absolute no copyright violation. I really think that someone abused my adsense code. I find it very unprofessional and totalitarian of Google not to warn, pre-contact or give details about the ban. Specially because I have been a client for 6+ years and the website is a big publisher. Actually the biggest in it's niche in my country. My dislike for Google grows with the day.
Shawn (the owner of Dp) was banned from Google Adsense and he got his account back I think .. You can ask him what he did .. Here is the blog post fro reference (you may get some ideas about what you can do) http://blogs.digitalpoint.com/entry.php?b=192
