Another observation I found was a large difference in the ranking with changing the order of words in the phrase while previously this was not so, eg. rishikesh rafting and rafting rishikesh, both of the phrases meaning the same.

Income for my sites fell to 1/3 of normal starting about a week ago, following a week of 2x normal. Keyword Tracker shows little change in positions, so maybe the income changes were and are due to SmartPricing rather than Jagger.

I know people who also told me they found the results during the update to be useless.

And now I am finding that Yahoo results are somewhat useless as well...

If Jagger3 is what is on 66.102.9.104 then I am very happy with the results.

unforunatly the site has had hidden text for over a year now without Google realising, DHTML covering the hidden text. Surely the biggest search engine out there should be able to detect this....

This jagger update has been good for me. Some of my sites hardly 3 months old have climbed on raking with even 1 or 2 word combinations. Finally i can see the reward for appropriate directory, article and related sites submission. Also i think that there has been some serious changes in weightage given to dmoz as now many sites listed in dmoz and coming high on rankings have dropped a bit after the update. Although its an assumption but may after ebay episode and all discussions going on in forum may be google are moving forward to taking a better discuusion for future as dmoz is no longer going to provide reliable and accurate listings as things will more mess up in future.

No! It's crap. I am biased though because Google doesn't seem to like me anymore. It's strange because the only page I have left that still ranks on the first page (or the first 50 pages for that matter!) is for what I would have thought were competitive keywords. The rest of my pages have been relegated to no man's land. Oh well, back to the drawing board, I guess.

I didn't even get hit that hard. But, the more I search on these updated result, the less satisfied I am. There are so many more outdated, useless sites ranking its ridiculous. I'm not going to stop complaining about expired ebay listings either. Some that I see expired at the beginning of October.

hihihi.. just in case someone is wondering:

searching for failure still gives the same top answer.. hihihi..

edit: just want to add that Google and MSN is just 2nd page for search engine! Yahoo is 1st page.. hihihi

I monitor results very closely for a key phrase for my biggest website.

Since Jagger began I have moved from #4 to #2.

However, the results for the top 10, top 20 and top 30 are far less relevant than before the update began.

I can't believe today's results will stick. If they do, Google will have messed up big time - imho.

I know how much many of you hate Online Pharmacies, but the Jagger update was AWFUL for relevancy for many of us. Affiliate Spam and Blackhat scrapers have almost completely taken over nearly every keyphrase.

    This update was a disaster.

    Hi,
I am just curious how would Google determine whether people are finding Google more relevant post JAgger. Technically or otherwise how would they determine if people like what they are being served post Jagger.
Also I am finding on some searches the keyword or information about it is limited to a few sentences in No. 1-5,while the content is much better in the lower listings.

Easy, they will monitor their traffic patterns, compared to the traffic patterns of yahoo, msn, and other search options.

Face it, if you find yourself stepping in crap, you clean your shoe off and dont step there again. I am finding myself searching on yahoo and msn much more than I did in the past couple years.

I think the results are definitely cleaner but it seems like certain sites are weighted heavily towards being at the top, especially in my field. ESPN can have a player's name written at the bottom of the page and it ranks higher than my PR6 page that is dedicated to this player. That is not relevance if you ask me.

I just hate when I get to a site that may have the word on it once.
