I installed wordpress last night, and have been editing my blog all day. So I know the config file is correct, and I have checked it over again. A few hours ago, it just locked me out and gave me the old: "This either means that the username and password information in your wp-config.php file is incorrect or we can't contact the database server at localhost. This could mean your host's database server is down. * Are you sure you have the correct username and password? * Are you sure that you have typed the correct hostname? * Are you sure that the database server is running? " Why was it running fine before? I did not change the config file. Has anyone else experienced this and can you help?
Is your SQL server running? (Well you better go catch it!) No Seriously, give your host a shout. SQL server is probably down if you're on a shared host.
Dedicated Host and everything is fine. I have re downloaded, and reinstalled the config file enough times to know that's not it.
HUH? I am assuming my host set that up since it was running for 10 hours before I got the error message. Could it have run without that, and then just shut down? FTP log in is fine, (this is not sarcasm, I am really asking.) Admin just rebooted the server, it's fine now, thanks for trying to help guys, I appreciate it.
Yeah. That's not the one, that blog is on free wordpress, it's always up. This whole thing started with me trying to make the import function work, from one blog to the other, and it's not working either. Thanks anyway.
