After 3 years only 2 pages indexed by Yahoo

Our company has a site that has 10000 pages indexed by Google and over the last 3 years has only managed to get 200 indexed by Yahoo.

This week that has dropped to only 2 pages indexed by Yahoo.

WHyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy. Isn't the point on search engines to help people?

We have thousands of customers that come back to our site but when they even try to do a direct search for query: xyz.com we don't even come up.

After 3 years only 2 pages indexed. Is that a responsible search engine?

    I don't think so.

Have you tried to file for reinclusion? Your site probably has a penalty.

There is nothing to be reincluded. It has never even been fully looked at. It is like they refuse to look at it for some reason.

This is why you should try for reinclusion :p. You might find out that there is a penalty on the site.

The reason I don't think they like our site is because the main word for Overture that is the theme of my companies site is $1.50 a click.

I have been doing SEO for 5/6 years now and have found that Yahoo really doesn't deeply index a site that they are making $1.00+ a click on.

Why would they? I wouldn't do it either as a business. $1.50 a click X 4000 a day. That is alot of money they make off that one word.

Yes I agree, but the point is when people tell others to go search for a site and they prefer using Yahoo and the site is not in their index it makes Yahoo look very bad.

Conversation: Hey go look up this cool site called mysite.com

friend 2: goes and looks it up "I can't find it and I used the exact URL that you told me to look for"

That is when Search Engines have failed to do their job properly.

Just submit your site for re-inclusion. If it still doesn't work, email them asking if there's anything wrong with your site for which they're not indexing your pages.

    Here's what you do:

Create a Yahoo! sitemap which is a .txt file that you submit to them through your Yahoo! account here (I believe): http://siteexplorer.search.yahoo.com/

Submit your website to the Yahoo! Directory.

Bada bing, bada boom... you will be indexed.

My site visitusa.com has the same problem and I have submitted urllist with no results. Over 5000 pages in google and msn without only 200 in yahoo.

I agree with this post again. Yahoo still has our site indexed at 2 pages of 1000s.

No wonder the stock value of this POS company fell today. They need to change things around.

In my opinion, Yahoo is a little lazy when it comes to indexing pages.
