    Hi,

I heared that on new sites the clicks were higher than on established sites..

after a month or something like that the clicks should go down ??

but I just checked my adsense and got on click from $ 1.70

    :)

Not necessarily. It depends on your site's theme and traffic. Ongoing new traffic brings people who are much more apt to click your ads while a particular theme could always generate higher PPC amounts.

Not like that. Normally new sites will get less click thru rate compared to established one as well as the theme and traffic and keywords you use.

One thing I failed to mention is this: as your site ages and people figure out that money can be made on your type of site, the saturation of similar type sites could bring down PPC levels. Thus, it is always important that your site be relevant, with fresh information, and be able to distinguish itself from the competition.

Nope new sites may have lesser CTR. My site is six months old, still getting <$1 click per day.

I think its is all dependent on the theme and subject of the site that triggers the ads. Of course, high paying keywords of today might not be so in months depending on how competitive they remain and whether adevertisers feel they are worth bidding high for.

Mine keep going up on one site in particular (a business niche). It used to average around $.30-.50 / click. Now (despite an occasional low-paying one) I'm noticing the bulk are $1.50-2.50 / click. I don't understand why it's going up really... not doing much active promotion, no big traffic increases... pretty much same old game as a few months ago (the site's either close to or just over the 6 month mark now).

Oh and this is so true. So don't tell anyone (in an open forum) what your site is about unless you just want to breed competition.

Its true that new sites earn better than older ones, because older ones tend to be smart priced over time - unless you are problogger or techcrunch.

Check out this thread for an adsense ebook that might explain this:

What would be considered a "new" site in the sense of adsense smartpricing?

I'l give you an example. I have a blog on entrance exams that gets a decent traffic...(about 200 uniques per day and around 250 page impressions according to adsense).

It has always had a high CTR since it started getting this much traffic. And in those days even the CPM was quite amazing nice (I'm talking about October, November 2006 when CPM on this site peaked).

And suddenly since the last 2 months, I'm earning one fifth of what I used to from this blog coz the cpm is drastically down, though traffic remains about the same and also the CTR .

Now what do you say to that?

Not sure what to tell you. I was curious about what's "new" in the eyes of Adsense, because I would have thought that after about 6 months, I'd be earning less per click because of smartpricing, but it's risen pretty steadily, even without much in the way of traffic changes or click-throughs. Just curious how long I should expect to enjoy that before a dropoff. :)
