African Safari site for sale

I am selling www.wildnetafrica.co.za - PR5, 140 uniques per day, $997 Adsense in 4 months


Wildnetafrica.co.za is getting around 140 unique vistors (2000 hits) every day for "african safari" related terms. I want to sell this site because I am not getting around to redesigning it.

Just for poops and giggles:

1) The website clearly was made for adsense ( a violation of Google tos).

2) The only content is 345 pictures of animals.

3) Any legit redesign to abide by Adsense TOS will drop revenue like a rock.

4) Two of the top 3 main referers is a foreign laguage website, making the traffic from there non English speaking, which means they probably are blindly clicking on the ads. (Which just happens that ads make up the top half of the page).

5) Yahoo has already made using images next to ads against TOS and I'm sure Google isnt' far behind. So that has to go in your redesign.

6) As it is stands, a review by Google will get the site banned.

Now tell me again why you are willing to pay 23 notes for it ?

 

liquid, what the fuck is your problem? This is not my site by any means, but if someone like you came and tried to spoil my sale, I'd be severely pissed. Why not go do something productive instead?

To answer your question: the only "real" content is the few hundred pictures - you will see that the pictures rank well in Google. Most of the search engine traffic is from Google Images.

The value of the site is that it is an old site, getting a decent amount of traffic from a variety of sources in a valuable niche. It does generate some income and is a good starting point for somebody that wants to make something of the site.

 

Thank you for your comments. Adsense holds a vast advertising community of advertisers and publishers. Advertisers who use adsense hope that their investment will bring in enough customers to not only offset the cost of the advertising but generate a profit. Publishers rely on advertisers to generate that revenue which will then generate an income stream for them.

Websites which are thrown together for the sole purpose of expoiting the network so as to generate revenue with no substantial benefit for the advertisers harm the network in general and raise the CPC for advertisers. Publishers who take into consideration that the advertiser is running a business and act appropriately to generate quality traffic for the advertiser are a benefit to the network. This lowers the CPC for advertisers and generates more profit for publishers.

Websites like the one being sold in this thread should be a concern for all publishers who are interested in longevity and a steady stream of income from Adsense and PPC advertising in general.

I tell it like I see it. Maybe that's not what the Digital Point community wants, I could be wrong. If you would like to actually negate my arguments, you're welcome to, but why do that when you can just say a cuss word or two and attack me ? Right ?

 

It's well known traffic generated thru Google images has a substantially lower CTR to the point where rarely anyone bothers increasing image rank. "Decent amount of traffic, variety of sources, valuable niche" is a vague and cliche sales pitch routine.
As for the "content" having value, you can get 750 quality animal pictures at shutterstock.com for $139.
If you have been getting regular checks from google for this site without a review and ban, then you're lucky, but you know it won't last so I think you're trying to unload the site.
About the only on target things you've said are the fact that it needs a redesign and is a starting point for someone who wants to make something of it.
Now, if anyone still wants to pay thousands of dollars for this website knowing all this, more power to you and all the best.

More BS. As a Adsense publisher myself I should report the site to Google. I haven't and I don't plan on it because I've been quite vocal here. And because the site is nothing more then a drag on the Adsense network, it IS my business.
This can't be typical of DP. It's like I'm in the twilight zone.

Is this the only site in your google account ? Could you post screen shots featuring the domain or channel if possible ?

With all due respect that revenue screen shot could be from 10 or 100 sites.

The best question to ask yourself is: can a site with 140 uniques in a fairly competitive niche, generate around $8 a day?

My answer would be: YES.
