In Alabama, I believe, it is now a fineable offense to feed stray cats. This is because if you feed them, their population swells even further and their suffering increases. They also become dependent on the food from strangers. In the same way if we send Africa fish, but don't teach them how to fish for themselves; their population and suffering increases. They also become dependent on the food from foreigners. Hence how hunting is actually humane to keep deer population low so there is enough food supply for the deers, that they do not starve. So why are we so cowardly to increase the suffering of these people? Why do we lambaste the policies of countries like China who control their populations to increase the living standards of all?
Because the USA and EU produce more than they can actually consume so they prefer to SELL it for bellow production cost in order to keep our farmers and citizens happy. That’s my simple explanation.

Feeding a cat doesnt contribute to overpopulation. Believe it or not but you can't get pregnant from food. That's why trap-neuter-release programs are a lot more effective at controlling population than refusing to feed. If you feed them you get fat cats having sex. If you don't feed them they'll just be hungry cats having sex. Either way you get kittens. So spay/neuter the cats and the rate of population increase will go down. Likewise, throw a few packets of condoms in those lunch sacks ....
Even cloths that we donate are killing their textile businesses. I saw a documentary about African textile companies going bankrupt because they couldn’t sell their product. People preferred buying brand name second-hand cloths from Europe rather than new local made cloths.

People have been giving African countries aid for years, and where has it gotten them? Nowhere. Giving them aid causes them to be dependent on industrialized nations. The secret to being successful is being "independent." Instead of giving Africa "aid" how about placing an emphasis on education and reducing the number of students who leave the country via "brain drain?" African countries should study China and Japan to learn how to rise out of third world status into an industrialized powerhouse.
The dark green countries according to that graph are those countries that will have problems with an aging population. Look at france, look at Canada. They will need to increase the taxes to be able to pay pensions for all old people when the young people decrease.
