Sometimes I get random jumps in my earnings (daily). Is there some kind of lag for the clicks to register because sometimes I will check back every 30 mins and there is a 50% jump in clicks, but very few new page impressions. I'm not doing anything against the TOS (clicking my own ads etc) and most of my pageviews are real unique visitors. What do you think is going on? Regards, Curtis
I'd say I get about 70% of my clicks each day between 11am-2pm, the rest of which clicks are slow but traffic is steady. It's been like that for about a year now and I haven't had any problems.
but in the time period in which i see the jump in clicks my page impressions have hardly changed.....
I get the same thing. I think you get one person that sees a couple things he is interested in, clicks one, backs up and tries another. This would probably be more of a problem if it is always the same person, even then, I think Google just decides not to count the click. So, I wouldn't be too worried.
the different numbers aren't always updated at the same time, so clicks and income might be updated later than the page impressions that gave you those clicks as long as everything is within TOS no need to worry.
A 50% increase in clicks is only significant if you have a lot of impressions (lets say 100 to keep things simple). If you have 20-30 impressions and CTR jumps 30%, it's normal. This might mean someone clicked the ads 1-2 times.
this is normal for the first 6 months.. dont worry but after that u will be banned like me.. i had the same
There seems to be a lag of 30-60 minutes. Earnings yesterday always increase for an hour or so after the day have ended.
I suspect that Google has made some type of change in their reporting method which causes these atypical jumps. Or maybe they have grown so big, that they need to add more computers.
this also happens to be, You have nothing to worry about your account is not at risk of getting banned
One of my sites has rapid swings in clicks from day to day. Much of this has to do with the relevancy of ads on the site. Advertisers raise and lower their bids all the time. There accounts may run out of funds, etc. This changes the ads that run on my site because the niche is very small. I've had no problems with Google regarding this as it is natural and mostly dependent on the ads they server and not my traffic patters.
this is the reason why i lessen my ads on my site. but what if someone is mad at you and decided to click all your adsense (or just think of the possibility - this can happen), that will be fraud clicks right? and then google will see it, and google will think that you asked that person to do those clicks and then they banned you.. what should i do to avoid this?
This is normal and I don't think there is anything to be scared of. If you are still uncomfortable, you can always contact Google Adsense and inform them.
