How do I find products to market for others without paying to join an affiliate marketing program? I want to begin doing affiliate marketing as I have learned a lot about how to do it but nothing has told me how to find the products.
ClickBank is where most people start. It's free to sign up for an account and being promoting hundreds of different products through your affiliate links. Other popular affiliate networks are Commission Junction and Shareasale. Just do a general Google search for "Affiliate Networks" and you should find a whole bunch.
Wow Mary surprised you didn't know about it. Clickbank is really popular for a reason and very reliable.
First of all, just like business or a job, you need to put effort in affiliate marketing. I assume you know this so I just want to remind you. Since, you are unsure on where to find a product, you can start with affiliate networks Clickbank is also an affiliate network. Other well known affiliate networks are commission junction, linkshare. You can even type in affiliate networks in Google. If I were you, I will start by choosing a product of which I am familiar with and MOST importantly, I have a believe on that product. A product that I believe it will give benefits to the buyers. How could you promote a product effectively if you don't know about the product? That is why I suggest you to start with a product that you love or at least that you are familiar with. Or else, you do research on that particular product's industry. Please keep in mind, not all products in Clickbank are of good quality. So, do your research and be consistent. Luck for you, always
You can find many useful articles in Hubpages about affiliate marketing. Many Hubpages writers are earning well from Amazon, Clickbank, Ebay, Kontera and Google Adsense. Each program requires a different approach in writing.
I just cannot express affiliate marketing because i have involved myself in it and worked very very hard i learnt every single tip technique to promote online but the all important thing is finding the right product because you are a affiliate marketer i will tell you a very good way to select converting affiliate product which makes you more money. Find a few products in your affiliate site like for example clickbank then see the gravity it should be more than 30 which means it is converting good. Then see the percentage referred which tells how many sales are being made by the affiliates if it is greater than 65 % then it might be too competitive to promote them. Then look at their sales pages if you were a buyer would you buy from it, is that page well attractive and informative can it grab you if so then it is the product you need to promote. GOOD LUCK..
Both of these statements are wrong. Gravity has nothing to do with conversion rate. All gravity means is how many unique affiliates have each made at least 1 sale in a certain time frame. So if a product has a gravity of 30, all that means is last time Clickbank updated the stats, 30 affiliates each made at least 1 sale of this product in the period before the update. (I think it's 30 days or so but I could be off.) So even if a product has a gravity of 100, nobody knows how many hops it's taking for those affiliates to actually make the sale. It could be 20 and it could be 500. As far as the percentage of sales goes, that just means how many sales are coming from affiliates as opposed to the vendor themselves. So in your example of 65%, that means 65% of the total sales of that product came from affiliates and the remaining 35% came from the vendor. This has no bearing on how competitive it is though.
thanks j1218, i always wondered what that gravity score meant exactly...but is still a little misleading isn't it? Everyone i know do not pay much attention to the gravity or do i hang around the wrong people lol?
Wow this is some great information. Ok so since you say that those numbers really don't mean much towards choosing a product, can you give me an idea of what I should be looking for when it shows the stats for the product?
It is misleading because from what I've always noticed, people think the high gravity products are always the best to promote. The thing is, a product with a gravity of 5 might be converting 10 times better than a product with a 100 gravity. In my opinion gravity is just more of an indicator of what's popular or not. It doesn't tell you conversion rates though and the only way to know that is to test it out yourself or better yet, ask the vendor for a screenshot of their recent stats so you can see the conversion and refund rate yourself. What I do is just find a product in my niche that has a good sales page and that I can see someone actually buying. I don't pay much attention to gravity anymore.
Ok. thank you so much for the advice. That makes complete sense. I wouldn't want to promote a product that I couldn't see myself buying or someone else buying. Then I would just be wasting my time.
Simply type the word "affiliate marketing program, affiliate program, internet affiliate program, affiliate marketing, or affiliate business" on any of the search engines and check out the result.
If you want to find directories of affiliate products, type in: "affiliate marketing directory" with the quotes. Then you can find the products you want to promote and join the affiliate programs that way. My experience shows that hard good products are easier to sell than digital downloads, unless it's software. But eBooks are getting outdated very quickly. I also just joined PaySpree. The site is an affiliate network, similar to ClickBank or PayDotCom but you get instant PayPal commission for every sale you make. Some of the products even pay 100%. No affiliation. Just thought it was great idea!
Another good thing that you can do is, if you are on someone's list and you see that they are launching a product. If you like the product and would like to be an affiliate, you can go to the products home page - scroll down to the bottom and look for the link to sign up as an affiliate. Most product launches will take on affiliates to do more promotion for them As there will be a lot of buzz around the product anyway it's usually quite easy to get some sales through free marketing.
Ok thank you. I will definitely check out PaySpree and PayDotCom. I never thought to look at the products of the lists I belong to.
Maryb83 , instead of actively looking into some affiliate network, whenever you come across an information product that you find interesting, try checking the footer of the page and see if they offer an affiliate program of that product. Since you already have an interest looking at that product page so pretty much you are interested in promoting that product too. Good luck!
Also, you may want to stay away from the "Internet Marketing" niche, or what is known as the "make money online" niche. The reason for that is just because it is very competitive. If you chose to sell other products like relationship advice, etc. you may find less competition. For example, I was very happy to find that a keyword such as "used laptops" was not very competitive at the time of my research, and I could actually sell these products from Amazon. Just another idea you can look at.
