Do you think that after what happened after Iraq that Afghanistan will be the same or new tactics will be used or no one will care and we'll just leave after a few months?

I personally think that because the media is not focusing on Afghanistan as much as they were on Iraq that the US will do better.

Just a quick story, I was in Fallujah from Sep 06 to March 07, part of a Marine Civil Affairs Unit. Our mission was to survey sites for future projects and outreach to locals, in six months many projects were completed or under development, we distributed toys, school supplies. We sometimes had Journalists trying to go out with us but they always asked for the missions that had more chances of combat so they always went to a more dangerous part of the Anbar region, not once did they cover our outreach missions, I guess because ratings would be low. The media influences a lot, and they rather show the bad more than the good because of ratings.

I hope Afghanistan will be different for the better

Forget about afganistan, Taliban is going to take control of nuclear powered pakistan in 3-6 months , and I am sure talibans will try to use those nukes to either india or europe whoever prevents them to establish their religion as the only religion in earth. US president is going soft on taliban and pakistan.
