Affiliates with related content?

Are there any technology/computer related/consumer electronics ad programs, CPM? My affiliate only offers insurance, friendfinder, classmates types of ads that aren't related to my content. They allow me to restrict the ones, but the choice is very limited.

    Hi kelp,

Affiliates pay CPA so if you want CPM you must be looking for Ad networks.
Not sure of any that specialize in tech - but have you looked into Chitika?
Here is a blog review I did on the program with some examples of their ads: http://affiliate-blogs.5staraffiliateprograms.com/2005/10/20/chitika-affiliate-program-review/

They don't pay CPM but they pay per click and since it's contextual they can show the right ads based on your content.

Hope this helps and best of luck!

You can always check commission junction.

    CJ.com

or just search google for specific products/services in your niche.

Make sure to include +affiliate in the search

Chitika looks interesting, on average, would you say it pays more than Adsense, or would I have to put it on my page and see which one is better? It seems I'd make more money with Chitika because it seems to "interest" the visitors more, which means more CTR, hopefully.

Totally depends on your site - Chitika beats adsense easily on my sites, but I imagine others will have the reverse experience. Chitika does generally seem to pay more per click though.

I'm about to start an affiliate program for my site www.splaytech.com and it is the type of afiiliate program your looking for. It is a consumer electronics site so it should fit your needs. I'm not sure on when exactly it will be set up and everything but it will be soon. If you are interested please PM me with your email address and right when i set up the affiliate program i'll email you letting you know!

I was just accepted into Chitika, what are the rules of using adsense and chitika together? Can you use them both or only one?

You have to set chitika to non-contextual mode, that is the default now.

As for wether you need to also disable the seach tab, the vote is still out on that one, but I'd suggest doing it just to be safe, there is now a checkbox on the chitika setup page to do just that.

    Good luck with it.
