Affiliates, do you contact your clickbank customers who bought through your site or ad? Do you use the contact information "email, name, product purchase" to contact them, or due use this data for any means, in order to limit refunds, or make new sales??
don't ever do it unless you promised them a bonus for buying from your link people do not like being disturbed
according to clickbank terms, I think affiliates should not contact customers using the name, email and product data in their transactions page.
Agreed, I figure its best not to contact them, in case they report you to clickbank for misusing contact information and spamming.
No. I think that would be considered spam. I figure 99% of the people who bought through my links don't even know what affiliate marketing is (I don't do much promotion of IM products) ... they'd be pretty confused (and probably disturbed) if I contacted them.
If it is that every customer would be getting hundreds of mails, I think it is a bad practice, so we should honor their privacy.
Don't do it, it's a bad way of email marketing. I also don't like it when affiliates use my information.
I would think what you do is provide an opt-in form on your pitch page, or maybe your thank you page. Any rate they must indicate they want to be contacted somehow. IMHO.
Yes, I do. I contact them regularly. In face with some of the products that I promote I've created membership sites as a free bonus. Colleen
If you can pre-sell them and get their info/opt-in for long term participation with you - withOUT being sneaky or spamming them - I think you are indeed maximizing long term retention and monetizing efforts - good job 60. Always list build, even on your/others landers. Aggregating and retaining good spenders is crucial to fruition of automation downstream when you have a deep relationship with your customers. If you're a vendor it's obviously a lot easier... As an aff, going through your reciepts and aggregating emails to spam them is without a doubt both a poor effort looked down upon by all, and will create problems for you and merchants you are working with.
