Affiliate Website and Google SERP

I was wondering if you have any tips on improving SERPs on Google for affiliate websites. It seems that Google won't rank affiliate website anywhere above 50 or so, even if the website has:
- Clean, professional design
- Significant amount of quality unique content
- Significant amount of quality inbound links
- Added interactivity features like Forums, Blog

As long as there are affiliate links or banners, it seems to be very hard to rank the site, ragardless of what I stated above. MSN/Yahoo will rank the site in top 10, but it's nowhere to be found in Google.

I wonder if it could be a result of Google incorporating human reviews for sites targeting big keywords in competitive areas.

Any tips on what helps to get such sites higher in SERPs?

Make sure you mask your affiliate links

 

Mask url link purpose to cover your link not follow by googlebot.

My affiliate site, got position in Google #2, while the #1 is my advertiser :d

 

What's the best way of doing this? Create the links as javascript?
