Anyone noticed that simple affiliate sites like eshops or so which got default content getting banned by Google very fast? I've had like 5 sites for more than 1 year and recently noticed that all of them are now banned. Though had strong links from premium directories and nothing shady...
Although it's sad to the site is banned, I hope this wont' impact your business, since I believe most of your traffic are not coming from Google.
Try using 'no-follow' on your affiliate links, I've heard of some people getting their PR back. I still get Google traffic to my affiliate pages, too, so I think its working.
Well, they were ranking pretty well. korr, I mean't eshops, like you upload script which sells ringtones or whatever (all default) on your domain and build links for it
Read the last 2 points related to affiliate sites. Google allowed affiliate sites as long as you do not against his guidelines. http://www.google.com/support/webmasters/bin/answer.py?answer=35769
