I am a BRAND NEW n00b to Affiliate Marketing so bare with me if I sound like a dummy. I signed up with CJ lastnight and looked at new Advertisers today and was picking some out that I want to promote. I got a few questions..... 1) For each company that you promote, You have to have a domain with a hosting service? and to promote it on google or other seach engines? Can you promote there company with Youtube or blogs such as this one right here? 2) When I post there products on my website, when I get a sale lets just say a sale of $200 and 10% commission. Does that person pay me or does he/she pay the direct company OR they pay me and I pay the direct company all the money while CJ pays commission to me? Those are the only 2 I can think of right now but I will have more, hehe.
1) Each program is different, just read the TOS for each one you choose to promote. You can always email them through CJ mail if there is something you need clarification on. 2)The customer pays the company, the company pays CJ and CJ pays you. 3) Good Luck!!
so the customer that comes to me through my website, if he sees something he/she likes how does he pay the direct company, does he email me for instructions and i get in contact with the direct company? hows that work?
ghostterm, the customer clicks through a link that you place on the page. They are redirected to the merchants site and buy through the shopping cart. The sale is recorded in CJ against yours and the merchants account. At the end of the month the merchant is billed by CJ and after they pay CJ sends you a commission check. As for the question about using Google or YouTube to create traffic to the merchants site. Many affiliate managers will deny your application if you do not have a website and the domain in your email doesn't match. You can always contact the merchant through the CJ email system to better explain how you propose to create traffic to their site.
CJ will checling the sales that you deliver and cj will send you the commision. And you dont have to own your own website, but that will be better because you will look professional in front of the customers.
