Affiliate programs or Adsense?

    I was wondering what the pros and cons of Affiliate programs & Adsense.

    Also, the reason why you prefer one over the other? I know many people say go with both but, take the approach as if you were forced to pick between one or the other.

    Adsense is much easier to implement and you can start making money from day 1 (assuming you have some traffic).

    Affiliate programs need a little more effort. First, you need to select the right program, which is suitable for your site, has a good product and is reliable.

    You also need the right kind of traffic.

    e.g. Users looking for information aren't likely to buy anything. That's why some webmaster try to SEO their sites for "buy" kind of keywords.

    Adsense doesn't need such traffic consciousness. Their algorithm is good enough to detect what users are looking for.

    If you are able to find the right affiliate program for your site, you will make much more money than what you do with Adsense. Many programs pay $20, $30, $40...etc per sale and just a few sales per month can bring you decent money.

    To sum it up...Adsense is easy money, but affiliate programs are big money.

    I focus more on site content and SEO isn't really my strong point.

    I get traffic for all sorts of keywords and thus I make more money with Adsense.

    It seems like Adsense regulates to an extreme looking for every excuse under the sun to do away with sites. Seems like many sites get banned for silly things. Or am I under the wrong imipression?

    I believe AdSense is one of the most profitable ones – I’ve used it myself and compared to other ‘programs’ Adsense is the best,
    However, I’ve seen some really serious affiliate programs that pay very well – up to 2 dollars per click (with further action like registration, order etc)
    It all depends – you should try both – and go with whichever you like/make the most of

    I would say AdSense, but I would make sure that you adhere to their TOS so that you can increase your likelyhood to continue to earn through them in the future while you are learning.

    However, I recommend testing with other ad revenue networks before going full-throttle with AdSense.

    How about if you could connect a buyer to an affiliate product through someone else who has already a website?
    Seems to cut out a lot of hassles.
