With a highly optimized SEO- friendly site, is it the opinion of the readers here that Adsense units would detract from Affiliate sales....or add another source of income? Are we shooting ourselves in the foot to include Adsense units on a site optimized to sell a product and get commissions?
Grab both and diversify your income is better than choosing either one.Multiple source income is the way for millionaire success story.
Why don't use both of them? I recommend to use 336x280, 300x200 or 160x600 Adsense text ads and 125x125 banner ads for affiliate.
I thought about this as well before setting up my site. I came to the conclusion that if someone likes your site and what it's promoting, they're more likely to click on your affiliate links and follow you through, if they don't like your site then they'll probably want to move on, so chances are greater they will click on your adsense ads. However, if someone isn't interested in what you're promoting, and there are no adsense ads to lead them away, then they're more likely to just hit the 'back' button and search for information elsewhere.
It's all a matter of testing... exemple some sites.. I added some adsense units and my affiliate commission dropped for a week testing..while another site I tested, my affliate commission didnt drop and adsense ads added to my bottom line! id say the best way to know is to test yourself..it is so different for every niche
