I have been browsing though the first two page of threads... I knew about affiliate programs but I didn't realize all the potential it has for good side income. If you don't mind, I'd like to ask some newb questions: 1. Would you say it is true that to become successful at the affiliate game, you need a successful website of your own with lots of traffic? I have many sites to my name but none that attracts visitors outside of my circle of friends. 2. If there are affiliate programs that do not require use of your own site, what would they be? 3. Shareasale.com users: Which have you found to be most profitable? Pay-per-sale, Pay-Per-Lead or Pay-Per-Click? I'm sure I will have more questions in the future, I thank you in advance.
1. Lot's of traffic is always good. If you can find products or services related to your site, it is possible to earn a bit or earn a lot. All depends on what you are offering. Tons of people might be promoting 'iPods', while there may only be a few offering 'Scooters' or something like that. 2. Unsure of this question. You can market and promote through email, blogs, etc. Avoid spam though. 3. ShareASale - again, depends on what you are offering. The ones that pay per sale, especially percentages, can do well. Example: You sell a digital camera at $800 and the percentage is 10%, you just made $80. Not bad actually! IMHO, I'd have to go with pay per sale on this one. Has done the best for me. Best of luck, plus you don't know if you don't try. Try: shareasale, commission junction, linkshare Have fun!
Wow, I need to learn these terminologies. What do you refer to when you say parasites, besides fungi and maggots?
affiliate programs are a great way to get started in internet marketing without having the trouble of creating your own product. just find something that you're interested in and focus your engery on not more than a couple of affiliate programs at a time.
