Affiliate networks not honouring sales

I won't mention any names but I am getting worried with my affiliates statistics at the moment. It shows that I am getting leads but not the associated commission credited. This has started happening from about 6pm GMT.

Is the affiliate network likely to give me the commission or do they turn around and say sorry, but the system had a problem and you have lost the commission?

I cannot contact them. No one on reception. My rep won't answer the phone. Can't get them on messenger.

Is this a common issue in the affiliate game?

If there is a system issue, usually the network will do a "compensation" payout which is based on sales the affiliate made for a similar period and their likely sales for the time that the system was down. Mind, you it's usually not the system that goes down, but more likely that a Merchant mistakenly removed tracking code that causes such issues.

But if the lead is recording, but the commission not going through it sounds like teh Merchant may have turned off the option to "auto-approve" their transactions. (Possibly)

 

They sorted their stats out later on in the evening. I was really worried there for a moment!

 

I think most networks are pretty honest - they would have looked after their affiliates.

But it's nice to know it was only a temporary issue for you!
