Affiliate networks and Adsense

    Hello,

I have created a website and joined a couple of affiliate networks to be able to link to travel related products and earn commission.

I plan to join the adsene scheme in the near future but I do not know if belonging to an affiliate network is allowed in conjunction with adsense as I know google are quite strict.

On my site, all links are either text links (i.e. some words in the content are hyperlinks that when clicked open a product on a page), or banners. None of the affiliate links are in the style of google ads at all. I think some of the banners when clicked pay me a few pence when clicked.

Is what I have mentioned here allowed in conjunction with adsense?

My site is: www.thinkbackpacking.com if you want to have a look.

Many thanks in advance for any reply.

It's om to use affiliate programs and adsense on one site, but think about that: with adsense you can lose some potential buyers that click your ads and leave the site for just several cents...

You can put any other ad on pages with adsense as long as other ads do not look similar to adsense ads.

thanks for the replies. I see what you are saying about people clicking away from the site using adsense but with a lot of visitors the cents can add up in my experience. I have no experience of affiliate schemes using commission so I am not sure how willing people are to buy from a click although the idea of 30 or so day cookies is good.
