Affiliate Marketing On Craigslist?

Does anyone have any success with affiliate marketing on craigslist? I'm not asking you to get too detailed and give any of your secrets away or anything ;)

But if you are what kind of methods do you use? IE. Do you post a direct affil. link in the craigslist post, or do you let them email you with interest and then send them your affil. link? anything else?

    :D

I made $ by using CJ.com and Craigslist. But you must know CL fight against all affiliate links. CL is not stupid, if you put direct any affiliate links on the posting, CL will directly rejects the posting. So you need to put a website url that contains affiliate link on the posting. This is indirect link.

You can make a but load of $$$ but you must be clever on how you post the ad. The ad must take them to your website where you then promote your affiliate products. For example we have a huge site with different content on Payday Loans, Education Grants, Car Loans etc. We use ads on CL to drive them to our site then make our affiliate sales through our website. No troulbe that way with the affiliate networks.

This post is over 2 years old. How do people dig these up... and why?

If you are "affiliate Marketing" on craigs you are violating their TOS. Period.

CL marketing has actually changed A LOT since this thread was made.

Its sort of a frown-upon technique now, at least by CL and a lot of affiliate programs. In order to fool the system, you'll need:
    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
A bunch of disposable Craigslist accounts. This can be accomplished two ways:
1: Have like 100 different phone numbers at your disposal
2: Buy Craigslist accounts from other people selling them ($5 a piece, usually)

A computer you can access or a really private proxy CL hasn't blacklisted the IP of yet located in a populated area. This is because Craigslist will actually track the IP you use to make postings to make sure you're only posting in your local geographical area. Same technology as those banner ads with "local girls" that always seem to be in the next town over.

An affiliate program that is OK with CL traffic.
    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Typically your ad will only last on CL for a matter of hours before:
    1: Craigslist removes your ad
    2: Craigslist deletes your account
    3: Craigslist bans your IP
4: Craigslist sends a letter to your affiliate program

Then, if your affiliate program doesn't allow for Craigslist traffic:
    1: Affiliate removes your account
    2: Your payment is suspended
    3: Your IP gets banned
4: Your payment account gets blacklisted
5: Your payment account & IP get sent out to other affiliate programs
6: Most affiliate programs will deny you a signup
7: You have to beg your mother to get paid under her name

There is a few good things about CL posting though.
1: Due to all of the above, you have little competition
2: People on Craigslist are idiots, and you can usually sell them anything
3: Its a freakin' goldmine with the proper technique & investment

For the amount of time, effort, money, and risk of setting up a Craigslist campaign, there are a lot better alternatives.

Never, EVER put a link in a Craigslist post. Use e-mail or instant messaging at least.

Hint: Autoresponders. I will say no more.

If you market affiliate products you have to use a two step approach to keep from having problems with you affiliate networks. I maket with some of the biggest that there are with a simple approach. If you are maketing financials build a site and put payday loans, credit conseling, anything you want to market. The use CL to drive traffic to the site which none of the networks have a problem with.

Actually, I've heard about ClickBank banning people for Craigslist traffic in a different forum.

Clickbank will only ban you if you put your link on the ad, not if you put a site up for the product and drive traffic from Craigslist to the site.

I have tried to get $$ from CL ads but it is quite hard to prevent your ads from deleted.

I've been posting ads for my company through various autoposters for the last 4 years and finally gave up the uphill battle and decided to do them manually. I've compiled a great team that now post our ads the old fashion way and I've decided to offer that to a few others as well. We charge $.30/ad and that includes PVA's. If you are interested just let me know by PM or email me at
