    So I'm fairly new at affiliate marketing, right now i have a site that i try to get good serps for and then have affiliate links on it, haven't been too successful.

    I'm wondering if I would be better off trying to get emails instead and then use email marketing with aweber or something. Is it true that this is more effective? Seems like if you keep sending people emails trying to get them to go to affiliate sites they are likely to label you as junk mail anyway.

    What is more profitable?

    Email marketing always converts better if you know what you are doing. From our affiliates experience, it is some of the hardest tactics to learn how to do properly.

    You might want to take some time to learn what marketing is.... marketing is not putting up a site then adding affiliate links and trying to get traffic.

    Just one method of marketing will not work alone , you need to try several different methods, but i would agree with internetmarketingiq, learn a bit about marketing first.
