Hi everyone. I have been reading a lot about affiliate marketing lately, on DP as well as other places on the web. I have finally decided it might be time to give it a go.

Below is what I plan to do, so please read over it, critique it and add your own ideas.

    1) I have decided to make a health based site, as I believe this is an industry that has massive potential for growth both online and offline

    2) Because I am not a very creatively minded person I have purchased some website templates and have found one I would like to use.

    3) I am going to get most of the content for the website written by a freelance writer at $0.02 - $0.03 per word.

    4) I will get keyword rich articles written by these same people, focusing on one keyphrase per page. I will then submit these to as many article and ezine directories as possible.

    5) I will put reviews of weightloss, health, fitness products on the website with affiliate links to purchase them. There are going to be boxes on the front page where these will be advertised ( a short blurb given) and link to the review as well as their being a product review section on the site

That is as far as I have got. Please post any suggestions you may have so I can input them into my business plan.

    Spot on matey.
I would also do the usual stuff of submitting to all the directories and doing all the necessary keyword research.

You will get better conversions if you incorporate the affiliate link in your reviews rather than just putting an ad on the same page.

Always try and collect email address's then you can try and sell other related products to them.

Try and link to your site wherever you can, forums, blogs, wiki's, groups.....anywhere and everywhere!

Articles are definitely the best thing you can do to get your links out there.

I know you havent done here but I wouldnt share to much about your niche on public forums, the general public are thieves You will just be creating competition for your chosen niche.

    Good luck
    Ste

Oh yeah thats what I meant I would do. The adds on the front page would be a blurb of this review to get people to that page

Thats a good one which I should have remembered as it is a fairly basic method. Thank you for reminding me. Posting here has already paid off

Thanks for the advice. That was also something I had thought about, but it is always good to have someone reinforce the point

    Good luck

Come on guys how about a bit of input. Please treat this post as a guide for everyone starting out in Affiliate Marketing

    What would you suggest?

What is the best way to create a newsletter? are there programmes you should use?

I was thinking about starting a blog with updates on my progress. How I am doing what I'm doing, what I'm doing and how much money I am making (or not making)

Do you think this is a good idea or should I just start a thread on say here?

Theres some great affiliate networks for publishers that you'll definitely want to look into, PM me.
