Affiliate Marketing Advice

    Greetings,

I am somewhat new to affiliate marketing, but I'd like to get something going. I am an affiliate for Bluehost, and get some buys there occasionally without really doing much. I currently own tryblu.com, which goes directly to my affiliate link. I would like to build my list, but I am afraid that adding an extra step in between (a lead page) might lower the number of buys due to the extra step.

I am thinking of adding some extra value to the purchase by providing a video series that shows how to use the cPanel, and offering a free screen capture video/screencast for buyers to use on their site.

So the question is, what would be my best way to go about offering this?

    1. Create an opt-in page explaining the benefits of bluehost, and my extras.
pros: adds people to the list, gets exposure to my screencasting site
cons: adds an extra step, just to sign up with Bluehost

    2. Keep Tryblu.com pointing directly to my affiliate link and find ways to directly advertise it (blog, social media, etc.)

    3. Something else entirely.

Thanks for being patient with a noob!

I would back up what you have now so you can restore it.
Then build your new site and try it.

If it does not work, simply put the old code back.....

Fortunate thing is that there's nothing to back up. The current domain just points the the actual affiliate page at Bluehost. I just need suggestions on what to do moving forward.
