Affiliate marketers - spam artists?

The one thing that puts me off affiliate marketing is the fact that it seems to revolve around spam, I once many months ago filled in a form to win an iphone and ever since I have had multiple spam emails a day. Does anyone actually read these emails? They go straight to my junk box and stay there but they are highly annoying! Does anyone make money affiliate marketing not spamming peoples emails to hell?

Most affiliate programs have very strict anti-spam policy. The spam problem is very common in some industries but most companies which care about their good name never pay spammers. So don't worry -- sign up for some affiliate programs and start to promote them, you will earn money withou spamming :)

bidzapbiz, you encountered the shady underbelly of affiliate marketing. Lots of the CPA networks have shady offers like that.

But the Affiliate Networks like CJ, Google Affiliate Network and others that are legit have affiliate programs for some of the biggest most respected brands on the planet, like Macy's and Walmart - even Amazon has an affiliate program. So if you stick with marketing legit programs that sell regular retail products, there's no spamming allowed and they aren't scammy either.
