Affiliate Management Program

    Hi all,

I'm in the process of setting up a few sites that will be ecommerce sites. I'm looking at setting up affiliate programs on them.

I'm trying to find a few different affiliate management websites that can automate the affiliate process.

What I was hoping for is to get some feedback frm you from both a merchant and affiliate perspective.

Right now that one I'm looking at is ClixGalore mainly because if you go with the right package you get alot of features.

But there's alot of other sites out there.

I thought about CJ, but they require your site to be generating over $5k in sales/month before you can join them, so it's out of the question right now.

I also looked at ShareASale, but I've heard nothing but horror stories about them from affiliates.

    Any comments?

Have you thought about having your own affiliate program run from your server? It will help cut the fees.

    ClickBank? (Not the best)...
    AffiliateFuture?

If they are new sites I would suggest you get the traffic and conversion up first before bolting on an affiliate programme. Then when you're ready you need to decide if you want a network or in-house programme and so on.

If you're just building the sites now then consider some online website builder tools that also support an affiliate program later on.

    Regards,
    Peter

Well this new project is probably going to be 100% affiliate-generated sales. So we're looking for a good place to get a massive supply of affiliates quickly. An in-house solution can't meet this requirement. And we're hoping to get this program into CJ once it reaches the revenue requirements of $5000/month (which will probably be within 12 months hopefully).

We do have affiliate software, but when we looked at the costs/time involved, it'll actually save us money to outsource parts of this.

Clickbank won't work because the products are not digital.

I'll definately look over the suggestions made so far thanks :)

Interesting perspective. I've heard more horror stories about CJ re spyware/adware and very few complaints about ShareASale. Check the ABestWeb forums and you'll get the picture.

    Hi Discreet,

That's odd. I read all the forums and affiliates love www.shareasale.com. I seldom see complaints and most of the affiliates I know even prefer over the big 3. I personally have not heard much good stuff about CG.

Yeah, I'd go for ShareASale over ClixGalore any day of the week.

Thanks for the information. Maybe the people I talked to about shareasale were just the ones that had bad experience, but they all seem to have been accused of click-fraud on their site and their accounts were banned. I know these people really well and can attest that they don't do click fraud, so I just figured it was a tracking problem with shareasale.

The reason I was looking at ClixGalore is because it's extremely cheap (no setup costs for the basic packages), and they have a couple of websites in their network that push the same products we'll be doing and they're performing really well.

    Thanks again folks :)

Shareasale is great for new program launches. If you want the most affiliate exposure in the long-run I would definitely suggest CJ. But it has to be managed properly from day 1 if you want to grow it to it's fullest potential. It's a great strategy but requires a serious effort. Just launching it and forgetting it won't get it done...
