Is it OK to set up a Facebook page dedicated to a product or service, then use affiliate links on that page to generate referrals for that product or service?

Just wondered if anyone has done this and if FB has been fine with it or kicked them off.

It is ok as long as you don't start spamming facebook users with your offers.

I think it would be fine but I don;t know the response you would get from it. Face Book users, as with all the social media web 2.0 type sites are people who just want to interact. They want to cut through all the ads etc... so you may have to go about it a little differently than just setting up affiliate links/pages at facebook...

Think interaction and you shouyld be able to come up with a nice strategy. I'm thinking more in the lines of finding t what they want, then giving it to them in the form of CPA offers etc.... Like for instance if someone needs to find an apartment or wants a free gas card etc... there are CPA offers in these areas.

Then say something like... "hey, I found this about a week ago and thought it was a scam but then I got it in the mail today and thought you'd like to know how I got a free gas card... here check it out.... there giving them away free"

    You see what I mean..?

Not looking at doing a big sales page. But if I were to start a Foo Fighters page (for example) along side the main content would I be permitted to use amazon links for their albums.

Yeah, Facebook lets you put as much for ads as you want on your own apps. However, be careful. Very few of these things works well and Facebook users are very very very banner blind.

That may be true, but it doesn't hurt to try, right? Plus, Facebook was made for college students and most of them don't really pay attention to ads like that.

Sure you can place any links you like to anything you like.....not that it will do you any good since that is not where the target market for your affiliate products is to be found.... but then few people know what a target market is.......

You dont quite put ads...... but you can post links on your profile and enter items in the marketplace... or follow the link at the bottom of the home page that says "advertising"
